ITAS Joins Forces with the DAC Group of Companies

  • 5 January 2015

DAC Holdings, a network of companies involved in distribution, workflow and technology within the accident repair sector, has acquired a stakeholding in ITAS, the specialists in bodyshop auditing, software and training.

Tony Young, Operations Director at ITAS, said, "We have been working closely with Karl Durham, DAC's Chief Executive, for over a year, and it has long been evident that ITAS and DAC share a common vision, energy and purpose. I'm delighted to formalise our relationship today by announcing that DAC has acquired a stake in ITAS."

ITAS provides bodyshop approval programmes which focus on repair quality and the ideal customer experience. They partner with vehicle manufacturers to interpret and compile standards into practical guidelines which enable bodyshops to follow the approved repair methodology.

ITAS assesses repairers against the vehicle manufacturer standards and gives bodyshops the ability to run self-assessment activities through online tools. Bodyshops are supported by ITAS's programme of specialist technical and software training which is designed to keep standards high.

"ITAS was founded to create an aftermarket environment where accident-damaged vehicles could be reinstated to the standards established by the manufacturing process. That vision has always been at the heart of everything we do," said Mr Young.

"As vehicles have become ever more advanced, we have looked to bring value to our manufacturer partners by ensuring a 'best parts, best process' approach to repair whilst simplifying the management of bodyshop networks. We do this through our bodyshop software which gives an instant 360-degree view of each network, flexible management reporting and a live overview of every repair in progress."

ITAS customers in the UK include Citroen, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Porsche and Vauxhall. The company has also recently agreed a deal to franchise its bodyshop network auditing programme in Europe and Africa.

Karl Durham said, "DAC is about thinking outside the repair. Under its umbrella we are bringing together a group of innovative, forward-thinking companies capable of delivering a joined-up proposition which will bring significant value to our industry."

"ITAS is an important addition to our network of companies. We've been impressed and inspired by their dedication to repair safety and by the innovation the team brings to managing repair networks through technology."

"We already have a central role in the coatings and consumables supply chain through International Applications, which has recently agreed a deal to acquire the Trade Group, the largest network of independent refinish distributors in the UK. With ITAS on board we are well placed as we continue to accelerate our strategy to bring unification to the accident repair sector."
